The title of this blog is inspired by a book that never existed:
CONRAD, Udo: Memoirs of a Forgetful Man
It is mentioned by Vladimir Nabokov, in his book Laughter in the Dark. I’m not particularly a Nabokov fan, although I do admit he is a literary genius and Laughter in the Dark a fine book.
That such a perfect name is such a throwaway item, fills me with a sort of awe.
If you are amused by this sort of thing, there is an entire blog dedicated to books that never existed, save for their mention in the pages of another book. It can be found at The Invisible Library.
This blog name and my twitter name are also partly inspired by The Parable of the Most Forgetful Man, which you can read if you click on that name there.
